The Holiday season is usually a time of joy, family gatherings, and memorable celebrations. But for some, it can also be a time of loneliness and feelings of isolation. We have learned that is the case for Mrs. Kincade, a Christian senior who recently reached out to Faithfully Magazine hoping to find new friends and some holiday cheer.
A Bit About Mrs. Kincade
Mrs. Kincade initially requested to place a paid personal ad to make some friendly connections, as she has done in local papers (with unpleasant results). But with her desires being simply for caring Christian friends, clothing donations, and perhaps a few care packages, we thought this could be a wonderful opportunity for us and our community of readers to be a means of answered prayer.
Our managing editor had the pleasure of speaking with Mrs. Kincade, who lives in Northern California, in a city where nearly a fifth of the population lives below the poverty line. In addition to hearing more about her requests, she learned that Mrs. Kincade is 64, African American, and married to an Englishman, whom she described as “a wonderful man” who loves and supports her deeply. Her husband, who is also her caretaker, works part-time. The couple does not have children.
Mrs. Kincade has also encountered racism more than she’d like to recall. In addition, she lives with a learning disability, anxiety, and a protruding disc that causes pain in her back and other parts of her body.
She asked for prayers for her health to improve, that she would no longer encounter racism, and that she would find good friends.
Mrs. Kincade’s story is one of resilience and a longing for connection, having lost both parents and two brothers years ago. Although she faces health challenges that make it difficult to leave her home frequently, Mrs. Kincade’s spirit remains strong, fueled by her Christian faith and a desire to share her life with others who share her beliefs.

Here’s How We Can Help Mrs. Kincade
Connect: One of the most profound gifts we can give is the gift of human connection. Mrs. Kincade would be overjoyed to receive cards and letters from fellow Christians, particularly women. Sharing our thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement could brighten her days and remind her that she is part of a larger community. You can email her at kklady724(at)gmail(dot)com or call her at (707)298.7524.
Send Gifts: Mrs. Kincade also welcomes care packages with small gifts and treats that could bring her comfort and joy. She specifically requested items like warm socks (size large) and gently worn winter clothing (size 12 pants and large tops). She also enjoys music by Nancy Wilson (the jazz singer), Alicia Keys, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift.
We have created an Amazon Gift List and a Walmart Wish List of items she would gladly receive. You can place items from the lists in your cart, and a note during checkout if you like, and Amazon and Walmart will take care of the rest.
If you cannot send Mrs. Kincade a care package, remember that a warm letter, brief phone call, or prayer can make a big difference.
Will You Join Us?
